Course Overview

This course explores the foundations of comedic performance through a variety of classic and modern styles. You’ll dive into key forms of comedy such as situational comedy, character based humor, wordplay, physical comedy, repetition, and contrast. In addition, you’ll explore contemporary styles including satire, parody, irony, dark humor, absurdity, and burlesque. Through practical exercises and scene work, you’ll learn how to apply these techniques, build comedic characters, and deliver humor with precision, creativity, and confidence.
