Welcome to Psychological Theatre, a transformative course designed to help actors explore the inner world of characters and deliver deeply authentic, emotionally compelling performances. Inspired by the work of Konstantin Stanislavski and Michael Chekhov, this program combines psychological realism, the “magic if,” and elements of Method Acting to unlock truth, imagination, and presence on stage and screen.
Course Overview
This course focuses on the psychological foundations of acting, guiding you to understand character motivations, emotions, and behavior on a deeper level. You will explore objectives, obstacles, and given circumstances to ground your performance in realism, while learning to access authentic emotions through personal connection and emotional memory. Through the use of subtext and imagination, as well as Chekhov’s psychological gesture, you will connect body and inner life, transforming impulses into expressive, dynamic action.
Through practical exercises, script analysis, and scene work, you will build complex, multi-dimensional characters and develop a strong emotional presence. This process will help you move beyond surface acting and create layered, believable performances that resonate with truth and depth.
