Sami Hajj
Early Training and Style
Sami Hajj began dancing at the age of nine in Lebanon, initially focusing on classical ballet while also exploring jazz, modern, hip hop, and oriental dance. To enhance his skills, he attended multiple workshops in Europe and London, developing a versatile technique that would define his professional style.
Professional Career
Sami’s journey took off when he joined the renowned Caracalla dance company as a lead dancer, a role he held for 15 years. Since 2005, he has been active as both a dance instructor and choreographer, working with artists, dancers, and singers in video clips, theatrical shows, and live events across Greece, Florence, Qatar, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Jordan, the USA, Brazil, and Malaysia. He has also trained participants in Miss Pageants and models in posture, runway walking, and stage presence, helping them exude confidence and grace.
Dance Company and Academy
Sami directs his own dance company, “Sami H. for dance & events,” and runs the “Sami Hajj Academy” in Dbayeh, Lebanon. The academy offers classes in oriental, dabke, ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, and more. The school’s mission is to guide students of all levels through their technical and artistic development, with periodic evaluations and cultural activities to broaden their understanding of dance history.
Philosophy and Importance of Dance
Sami believes in dance as a collaborative art form that nurtures dedication, ethics, self-confidence, and teamwork. Beyond physical fitness and muscle coordination, dance fosters social skills and a sense of community. Through dance, individuals learn to release stress and embrace creativity, making it an essential outlet for personal growth and emotional well-being.
